Yesterday, having split the clean into the first bit of the high pulls and then the full squat clean, something became utterly apparent.

It was mentioned that most people would be able to do more weight on the high pull then the clean. I was the reverse. 

I noticed on my high pull that I kept coming really far forward on my toes. However, when I went to doing the full squat clean, I landed in the squat position with the weight in my heels and front squated the bar back up correctly. 

What am I doing on the initial drive that is making me go onto my toes? Am I letting the bar get too far away from my body at the time of initiating the hip drive, pulling me slighly forward? Whatever it is it must be at the early stages of the drive since by the time I&#039;m getting under the bar, I&#039;m back on my heels where I should be. Either that, or I just have dancin&#039; feet. If anyone saw me do the high pulls / cleans yesterday...did you notice anything?</description>
